So many concerns about the sinking of this ship, people seem to be getting upset over how strong some are against this, well, thank god we have people who dare to ask questions and are willing to speak their minds, most of these people are self employed but are not brained washed by the idea of making money on what may be a problem for our future generations. As far as putting faith in the the authorities who are handling this, I would rather have the residents that have banded together, raise their concerns and ask their questions. During the sixties and seventies the authorities thought it was a good idea to bury liquid wastes in the ground, dig a deep hole in the ground, whack it in, they had faith that all their research and expert reports ensured that the clay soils would not allow the wastes to leachate into the table water.
Well, sadly they were wrong, it took several years before any noticeable effect took place and all their monitoring couldn’t stop the native wild life and neighbouring livestock farms to suffer birth deformities and premature deaths. There is nothing wrong with being concerned and wanting to make sure things are best for everyone’s future and thinking of our next generation first is the best way to look at any environmental issue.
