In a sense, everyone is correct. This issue is not about suburbs, beaches or location. It never really was, in my view. It is about truth. It is about honest governance of a society. It is about elected representatives having the courage to put issues clearly and honestly before their constituents and being prepared to argue the case.
Sadly, the HMAS Adelaide issue is just another case of government by stealth. Smart alec politicians and their lackies smooging the system to get their own way. Lets face it, who of us makes a point of reading, every day, the public notices in all state & local papers? Not many, and the politicians know it. Consultation, these days, starts with adverts in the public notice columns. If we don’t see it, if we don’t recognize or understand the significance, then that’s it my friends.
This isn’t about sinking a boat. This is about losing our right to be fully informed and losing our right to be heard.
